This is the third year for our strawberries and we should get a big harvest — unless the birds get there first!

Friday was not a good day here as it rained for 24 hours with 4+ inches  of rain which in our corner of the world means a wet basement.  And to top it off, we had to keep a close eye on our sump pump as it would stop running occasionally and we would have to jiggle it to get it going again. Our side yard was flooded with water from the field behind our house which flowed into our yard and out to the drain in the front corner of our property. The farmer had just planted corn maybe two days before the heavy rain and the field was 90% covered in water!
